On January 20th, 2025, the ROA Center for Political and Strategic Studies hosted a focus group discussion. The discussion was on “The Practical Experience of Joint Committees Under the Interim Oslo Accords”
It was a facilitated session, which brought together experts, policymakers, and former officials with direct experience in the joint committees established under the Oslo Accords including former and current advisors to the Negotiation Support Unit (NSU).
This focus group critically examined three decades of Palestinian-Israeli institutional coordination, evaluating the joint committees’ effectiveness and challenges while exploring ways to enhance future governance structures. Participants shared their firsthand experiences, identified structural weaknesses in the interim process, and provided relevant recommendations.
