“Mayroun”, a Palestinian depopulated village west of Safad, is a workshop organized by RO’A Center as a space for the Palestinian narrative as knowledge, memory, and belonging.

The workshop took place over three days in the Dead Sea region in Jordan, bringing together:
The historical dimension of the Palestinian narrative, with historian Dr. Johnny Mansour, tracing the critical turning points in the history of the Palestinian cause.

The emotional and nostalgic dimension of the lived Palestinian experience, with Mr. Tareq Bakri, through personal stories from depopulated Palestinian villages.

More than 20 participants from historic Palestine and the diaspora gathered in a shared space for dialogue, reflection, and collective storytelling, examining the relationship between memory, place, and history, and how these elements intersect in shaping individual and collective identities.

The workshop outcomes were guided through reflection and formulation sessions under the supervision of Mr. Jihad Harb, focusing on transforming discussions and lived experiences into critical insights that contribute to a deeper understanding of identity and belonging.

“Mayroun” is part of RO’A Center’s vision to create inclusive spaces for dialogue and a conscious attempt to reduce forced fragmentation and social divisions among Palestinians.
