RO’A Center Hosts “Why It Worked” Workshop with Collaboratory Unit from Harvard Kennedy School.

RO’A Center for Political and Strategic Studies is pleased to announce the success of the pilot “Why It Worked” workshop, led by a senior fellow from the collaboratory unit at Harvard Kennedy School (HKS).

This interactive two-day workshop, attended by members of civil society, academics, practitioners, and negotiation advisors, explored practical frameworks and analytical tools for understanding and transforming complex conflicts. Drawing from comparative research on peace processes that have successfully transitioned from protracted conflict to sustainable peace, participants engaged in reflective discussions, group work, and applied exercises. The workshop also introduced the Propeller Framework, a dynamic model for analyzing systems of conflict and identifying opportunities for change, and guided participants in applying it to both global and local contexts. This workshop is among several workshops that ROA will design and introduce, and it reflects the ongoing commitment to advancing peacebuilding, dialogue, and strategic learning through global partnerships and applied knowledge exchange.

The Why It Worked initiative was developed by the Negotiation and Conflict Resolution Collaboratory and funded by Bridging Insights, Inc., with findings published in the Negotiation Journal Special Issue (MIT Press / Harvard Law School Program on Negotiation).
