As part of the “From Fragmentation to Cohesion” project, RO’A Center for Political and Strategic Studies, in partnership with the Association for the Protection of Women Workers from Violence and Harassment, and with the participation of the Ministry of Labor, local civil society organizations, and workers from both the public and private sectors, launched an initiative aimed at advancing amendments to the Palestinian Labor Law and strengthening protection from violence and harassment in the workplace.
The initiative addressed key gaps in the current Labor Law and brought participants together to formulate a set of demands that can serve as the basis for a memorandum to be submitted to relevant authorities. These proposals include developing legal definitions and provisions related to violence and harassment, identifying penalties, and strengthening protection and accountability mechanisms.
The initiative forms part of RO’A Center’s broader work to address manifestations of fragmentation within Palestinian society by moving social issues beyond theoretical discussion toward practical and applicable responses, with the aim of advancing legislation and policies that protect workers’ rights and contribute to safer, more dignified, and more equitable workplaces.
